2015 in review

Posted: December 29, 2015 in Home/Latest News

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2015 annual report for the Men’s Ministry Website.

Here’s an excerpt:

A San Francisco cable car holds 60 people. This blog was viewed about 400 times in 2015. If it were a cable car, it would take about 7 trips to carry that many people.

COBC Men’s Ministry

As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.  – Proverbs 27:17

The purpose of this ministry is to equip and encourage the men of Country Oaks Baptist Church to externally and internally desire God to be first in their life. We will seek to provide a positive Christian environment geared towards men. We will utilize biblical training to equip a man’s thinking, which changes his actions and helps him form new godly habits. The ultimate goal and result is that men will become leaders of the home, church and community and exhibit a godly, Christ-like character in order to impact generations to come.

2 Timothy 3:17 – that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

In 2014, we held quarterly IronWorks meetings, a family service work day and our annual men’s camping trip. We also held the following Bible Studies:

  •  Weekly discipleship studies with Pastor Andy are available on Tuesday mornings at 6:00am and Wednesday evenings at 6:00pm.
  • A men’s Bible fellowship meets at Kelcy’s weekly on Thursday mornings at 9:00am.
  • The Men’s Ministry board met the first Tuesday of the month to fellowship, pray, be led in a devotion and conduct planning business for the ministry.

In 2015, the Men’s Ministry has changed the schedule up a bit. There will no longer be quarterly IronWorks meetings.  We will focus on encouraging and building one another up for ministry through monthly gatherings for food, fellowship, bible study and prayer.  At the end of each monthly gathering the men are encouraged to participate in ministry and outreach planning for upcoming events.

Men’s Ministry Monthly; 1st Tuesday of each month except January & July. Meeting at 6:00 pm.

  • APRIL 25; Family Fishing Derby
  • MAY 9; Family Work Day
  • JUNE 26, 27, 28; Camping at Big Bear Lake.
  • JULY; No events.
  • AUGUST 1; Trap Shoot at Tehachapi Sportsman’s Club in Sand Canyon
